Which panels and devices are compatible with Z-Wave Security 2 (S2)?
S2 is a more secure version of Z-Wave pairing protocol that provides additional security benefits. However, the benefits are only provided when both the Z-Wave device and Z-Wave controller (i.e., security panel) are compatible with S2 and enrolled using the S2 protocol.
Note: S2 enrollment will be used if both the device and the Z-Wave controller are compatible with S2. If either the device or the Z-Wave controller are not S2 compatible, S0 enrollment will be used. S0 enrollment does not require entering a Device Specific Key or PIN, but will not have the benefits of using the S2 protocol.
