Enable/disable a thermostat Fire Safety rule

To prevent the circulation of smoke and poisonous gas or potential HVAC system damage, a thermostat Fire Safety rule automatically turns off the HVAC system if a fire or carbon monoxide alarm is reported.

Note: Fire Safety rules must be configured for each thermostat.

To enable or disable a thermostat Fire Safety rule using the Alarm.com customer website:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click the toggle switch to enable or disable the Fire Safety rule for the thermostat.

Note: If the thermostat is shut off using the Fire Safety rule, it will not be turned back on automatically after the smoke, fire, or CO alarm clears. The thermostat will need to be manually adjusted back to the desired mode.
