Change the thermostat mode
The thermostat mode can be changed from the Alarm.com app and Alarm.com customer website. This allows the thermostat to be changed to Heat, Cool, Auto, or Off from anywhere.
Note: In Auto mode, the thermostat switches between heating and cooling to keep the system in a comfortable temperature range between the minimum and maximum temperatures. The Cool target temperature is the maximum temperature the thermostat is allowed to reach, and the Heat target temperature is the minimum temperature.
Change the thermostat mode
To change the thermostat mode using the Alarm.com app:
Note: If a thermostat mode listed below does not appear, you may not have a compatible thermostat or HVAC system.
- Log into the Alarm.com app.
- Tap Thermostats.
- Tap Mode.
- Tap to select the desired mode:
- Heat : In Heat Mode, the thermostat heats your property.
- Cool : In Cool Mode, the thermostat cools your property.
- Auto : In Auto Mode, the thermostat switches between heating and cooling to keep your property in a comfortable temperature range between the minimum and maximum temperatures you specified.
- Emer : Emergency Heat Mode is specific to heat pump systems and designed to heat the house quickly but energy inefficiently/expensively. Heat pumps become less effective at heating when the outside temperature gets too cold, so Emergency Mode bypasses the heat pump to heat the building quicker.
- Off : In Off Mode, the thermostat does not run.
- Tap Select.

- Click the desired mode icon:
