Can Access Control automation rules be configured to only work with specific users?

Access Control users can be assigned to one of two groups (i.e., employees or managers), making it more efficient to assign privileges and access levels in bulk. Existing and new users are set with a default user group of employee level. The user groups can be used to specify a subset of users who are able to trigger rules, such as Double Swipe to Lock or Unlock or First Person In. Users can be assigned to a group using the Alarm.com app or Alarm.com customer website.

To designate an Access Control user as a Manager or Employee using the Alarm.com app:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap User Access.
  4. Tap Down, then tap Users.
  5. Tap More  next to the desired user, then tap icn-edit.svg .
  6. Tap Access Group.
  7. Select Manager or Employee, then tap Save.

Now that the User Group attribute has been added to the user, automation rules can be designated to work with both Managers and Employees by using just Employees. Access Groups can be configured to work with the following rules:
