What does my camera's LED light mean?

The LED on Alarm.com's cameras indicates the current status of the camera and is a useful diagnostic tool.

Alarm.com camera LED statuses

LED lights vary depending on the camera model. For more information about a specific video device's status LEDs, see its installation guide in Video Devices

The following table outlines common LED statuses for most Alarm.com video camera models:

LED pattern Description

Solid red

LED solid red.svg

Powering up or disconnected from the network.

Blinking red

LED blinking red.svg

Powering up or a firmware update is in progress. 

Blinking white

LED blinking white.svg

Access Point (AP) mode is active. 

Blinking blue

LED blinking blue.svg

WPS mode is active. 
 
Note: On an ADC-V720W, a rapid blinking green light indicates WPS mode. 

Solid blue

LED solid blue.svg

Privacy mode is active. 

On applicable cameras, press and release the WPS button, or [P] on the ADC-V510, to toggle Privacy mode on/off.

Blinking green

Local network connection with local IP address, but no internet.

Solid green

Local network and internet connection with Alarm.com IP. 

Alternating red and green

Factory resetting or incorrect password

Other LED statuses

While the previous table represents almost all Alarm.com video devices, there are some notable exceptions for specific models.

ADC-V820

The ADC-V820 matches most of the LEDs patterns listed in Alarm.com camera LED statuses except for the red LED which is orange on the ADC-V820.

SkyBell Doorbell Camera LED statuses

The SkyBell Doorbell Camera LED statuses are different from other Alarm.com video devices.

The ADC-VDB780B LED statuses are different from other Alarm.com video devices.
