Controller Power Fault (Mercury)

The Controller Power Fault (Mercury) trouble condition indicates one of the following for an ADC-AC-LP1502 controller:

  • The ADC-AC-LP1502 system has reported a loss of AC power
  • The backup batteries to an ADC-AC-LP1502 system are not properly installed
  • The backup batteries to an ADC-AC-LP1502 system have been depleted or are non-operational
Caution: It is strongly recommended to use backup batteries with your Access Control system in order to keep the system powered during an AC power loss. Failure to do so in the event of AC power loss may impact the ability to gain or prevent access to the customer's location depending on the lock type used.

How to resolve

If using the ADC-AC-LP1502-PSE:

The power fault input terminals come pre-wired in the ADC-AC-LP1502-PSE kits, therefore you are only required to install a backup battery power bank of 24V DC to the FPV4 main power supply board.

Backup batteries need to be connected to the FPV4 within the ADC-AC-LP1502-PSE kit in the following configuration:

Note: If backup batteries are not attached or are depleted, this trouble condition will be present.

If using a third-party power supply with the ADC-AC-LP1502 system:

The AC power fault reporting terminals on the third-party supply must be a Normally Closed (NC) circuit. If the AC power fault terminals are Normally Closed (NC), connect them to the FLT and GND terminals on the controller. Refer to the third-party power supply's manual for AC Fault condition causes and backup battery installation instructions.
