Create a Double Swipe to Lock/Unlock rule

Double Swipe to Lock/Unlock is a rule that arms the locks or unlocks Access Control doors when valid credentials are presented. This rule can be configured to work on specific days of the week and times or can be set to function at any time. a Double Swipe to Lock/Unlock rule can be created using the Alarm.com customer website.

To create a Double Swipe to Lock/Unlock rule:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website. 
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click Add New Rule.
    • If a dropdown menu displays, click Event-triggered Rule.
  4. In the Name of rule field, enter the desired name for the rule.
  5. In Automate My, select Doors.
  6. In When this event occurs, select A badge is double-swiped by.
  7. Using the first dropdown menu, select the User Group that will be eligible to trigger the rule.

  8. Using the second dropdown menu, select which door controller the rule will apply to.
  9. In Perform this action, select the desired option:
    • Lock when unlocked; unlock when locked
    • Always Lock
    • Always Unlock
  10. In Select Devices, select which doors the rule should apply to.
  11. In During these time frames, select when the rule should apply.
  12. Click Save.
