What is the difference between monitoring temperature with versus without Smarter Business Temperature Monitoring (SBTM)?
DSC PG9905 temperature sensors allow for temperature monitoring on Alarm.com. Smarter Business Temperature Monitoring (SBTM) is intended for commercial use and includes expanded temperature monitoring features for business needs. However, temperature monitoring and alerts using PG9905 sensors are also available to small properties and residential customers who do not have SBTM.

Temperature monitoring with SBTM
With Smarter Business Temperature Monitoring (SBTM), customer accounts can:
- Support up to 40 PG9905 sensors (5 sensors are initially included with SBTM)
- Create sensor profiles to apply the same temperature thresholds to multiple sensors
- View current sensor temperature using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app
- Includes a sophisticated temperature monitoring dashboard on the Alarm.com customer website
- Temperature Monitoring Notifications to receive an alert when the sensor detects a temperature above or below a specified threshold
- Includes a notification buffer feature, allowing the user to only receive an alert if the temperature has been out of bounds for a specified amount of time
- Temperature History Report for viewing and tracking important daily, weekly, or monthly historical temperature data
Temperature monitoring without SBTM
When using PG9905 sensors for temperature monitoring without SBTM, customer accounts can:
- Support up to two PG9905 sensors
- View current sensor temperature using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app
- Temperature Alert Notifications to receive an alert when the sensor detects a temperature above or below a specified threshold.
