The Modem-Panel Communication Error trouble condition indicates that the Alarm.com radio module is not able to communicate with the control panel.

How to resolve:

For self-contained panels:

  2. Verify the panel is receiving the proper voltage. For more information, see Measure panel and module voltage
For modular panels:
  1. Confirm that the module is compatible with the control panel.
  2. Verify that the bus wiring between the module and the control panel is correct.
  3. Verify the wire gauge and length meet the panel requirements. For more information about wiring or power requirements, see the panel-specific article for What are the power requirements or refer to the panel-specific installation guide in Panel
  4. Confirm panel programming is correct for the Alarm.com module. For more information about programming, refer to the specific module's installation guide in Panel
  5. Once these are confirmed to be correct, reboot the system.
