Swap the PROM chip for a SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista
If a compatible Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista has an incompatible version, the PROM chip can be swapped.
Example: A Vista 20P 3.1 2004 PROM chip can be swapped with a Vista 20P 10.24 20xx PROM chip.
Compatibility
- The PROM chip must always match the panel model (e.g., 15P can only be used with a 15P).
- The Vista 10P cannot swap its PROM chip. This is only available for the Vista 15P, 20P, and 21IP.
To swap the PROM chip:
- Power off the panel.
Important: Never attempt to remove a PROM chip with the panel powered on. - Carefully remove the old PROM chip, and replace it with the new one.
- It's best to use a metal end of a binder clip or a PLCC IC Chip Extractor tool for this procedure.
