Enable video thumbnail notifications on Qolsys panels
Customers with intrusion plus video services can receive video events and thumbnails directly on compatible Qolsys panels for increased property awareness.
With Video Events and Thumbnails, homeowners have instant access to more information with expanded event type support, including people, animals, vehicles, and more. These thumbnail notifications appear directly on the panel, providing clear snapshots of activity and allowing for quick, informed decisions, whether that's responding to a visitor, monitoring the property, or just staying informed.
Additionally, the panel can verbally announce the notification, so residents always know what's happening, even when they are not near the panel.
Compatibility
- Qolsys IQ Panel 4 or IQ4 Hub on software version 4.6.1+
- Cameras that support Video Analytics

Enable thumbnail notifications
Thumbnail notifications can be configured using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
To enable thumbnail notifications using the Alarm.com customer website: 
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Video.
- Click Recording Rules.
- Click
to edit an existing rule or Add New Rule to create a new rule. - In Panel Notifications, click to enable Panel as Recipient.
- Select either Text-Only or Thumbnail Notification.
- Configure the rule as desired.
- Click Save.
To enable thumbnail notifications using the Alarm.com app:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap Video.
- Tap
. - Tap Recording Rules.
- Tap to edit an existing rule or Add New Rule to create a new rule.
- In Panel Notifications, tap to enable Panel as Recipient.
- Select either Text-Only or Thumbnail Notification.
- Configure the rule as desired.
- Tap Save.
Enable verbal panel announcements
Verbal panel announcements can be enabled for thumbnail notifications using the panel.
To enable verbal panel announcements:
- From the home screen menu, tap Settings.
- Tap Advanced Settings.
- Enter the installer or master code.
- Tap Sound.
- Tap to enable Voices and Panel Voices.
