The LiftMaster MyQ Internet Gateway (828LM) has been successfully tested with Ethernet cables up to 100 feet.

The range of the MyQ technology from the Internet Gateway to the MyQ garage door opener is about 1500 feet (open field) or 300-600 feet (when installed in the home), so it is not necessary to locate it close to the garage.
