Location Based Alerts for Connected Car and Connected Fleet
Connected Car and Connected Fleet customers can receive location-based alerts when a vehicle on their Alarm.com account travels inside or outside a designated Geo-Fence. These real-time alerts provide vehicle owners and fleet managers with greater insight into their vehicles' locations and allow them to take action if a vehicle is driven outside of an approved area.
Requirements
- An Alarm.com Car Connector (i.e., ADC-CC100 or ADC-3035L)
- Alarm.com Alarm.com app version 5.5.1+ for Android or 5.5.3+ for iOS
Features
- Customers are notified once a vehicle enters or exits a certain Geo-Fence for real-time awareness of a vehicle's movement
- A Home(i.e., Connected Car) or On-Site (i.e., Connected Fleet) Geo-Fence is automatically created around the primary address on an account
- Up to 20 Geo-Fences can be configured using Alarm.com Places
- As residential customers with Connected Car are coming and going from home, they can:
- Take action directly from location-based push notifications to run Home and Away Scenes
- Get on-screen location-based alerts to effortlessly run Home and Away Scenes right from their car display with Android Auto™. For more information, see Alarm.com for Android Auto™ Overview.
Configure location-based alerts
Location-based alerts can be set up by adding a new Geo-Fence and then creating a location-based alert.
Add a new Geo-Fence
A new Geo-Fence can be added using the Alarm.com app or Alarm.com customer website.
To add a new Geo-Fence using the Alarm.com app:
- Log into the Alarm.com app.
- Tap .
- Tap Places.
- Tap .
- Configure the fence, then tap Save.
To add a new Geo-Fence using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Settings.
- Click Places.
- Click Add a Fence.
- Configure the fence, then click Save.
Create a location-based alert
A location-based alert can be created using the Alarm.com app or Alarm.com customer website.
To configure a location-based alert using the Alarm.com app:
- Log into the Alarm.com app.
- Tap .
- Tap Notifications.
- Tap .
- Tap .
- Tap Location Based Alert.
- Configure the notification, then tap Save.
To configure a location-based alert using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Notifications.
- Click New Notification.
- Click Location Based Alert.
- Configure the notification, then click Save.
