Digital Document Storage for Connected Car
Important: The document storage system is not meant to replace physical copies. Customers are advised to check state and local laws to determine which document hard copies to keep in their car.
Customers can keep digital copies of licenses, insurance cards, vehicle registration, inspection paperwork, and more with self-uploaded images and customizable renewal reminders. Document storage features are accessible using the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app.
Important: The Connected Fleet service package add-on is required to view document storage features from the Alarm.com customer website.
Add a digital document for Connected Car
A digital document for Connected Car can be added using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
To add a digital document for Connected Car using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Fleet.
- Click Documents.
- Use the Vehicle dropdown menu to select the desired vehicle.
- In My Documents, click + Document.
- In Add Document, select the desired type of document.
Note: The Insurance and Vehicle Registration document types can only have one document each. If a document has been added for one of these document types, the option to add an additional document of that type will not be available. - Add an image and enter the information for the desired document, including an Expiration Date between 1 and 8 weeks before expiration and an Expiration Reminder if desired.

Note: Notifications must be enabled to receive reminders. Expired documents show up as Issues, not Trouble Conditions, on the Cars dashboard and Status feature screen. - Click Save.
To add a digital document for Connected Car using the Alarm.com app:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap Cars.
- Tap

- Tap Documents.
- Tap

- Tap to add one of the following documents:
- Driver's License
- Insurance Card
- Vehicle Registration
- Vehicle Inspections
- Other
- Add an image and tap to enter the information for the desired document, including an Expiration Date between 1 and 8 weeks before expiration and an Expiration Reminder if desired.

Update expired documents
Expired documents can be updated using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
To update expired documents using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Fleet.
- Click Documents.
- Use the Vehicle dropdown menu to select the desired vehicle.
- In My Documents, click the expired document.

- Click Edit.
- To update the document on a later date, click Remind Me Again.
- Click to select 1 Week or Tomorrow to receive the next reminder.
- To update the document on a later date, click Remind Me Again.
- Update the information as needed, including a new photo, if needed.
- Click Save.
To update expired documents using the Alarm.com app:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap Cars.
- Tap

- Tap Documents.
- Tap the expired document.

- Tap Edit.

- To update the document on a later date, tap Remind Me Again.
- Tap to select 1 Week or Tomorrow to receive the next reminder.
- To update the document on a later date, tap Remind Me Again.
- Update the information as needed, including a new photo, if needed.
- Tap Save.
