The Alarm.com Skill has a large range of commands that can be used to communicate with your system as "Ask Alarm.com" is spoken before the request.

These commands apply to the Alarm.com Skill, not to be confused with the Amazon Alexa Smart Home Skill. For a list of sample commands for use with the Amazon Alexa Smart Home Skill, see Smart Home Skill - What are some sample Alexa commands for Amazon Echo?.

Important: There are thousands of possible ways to ask Alexa to do something, and this is constantly evolving and improving to be even more natural. The following are some examples of each type of command that is supported.

Security

No arming parameter:

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to arm stay."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to arm security system stay."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to arm stay partition 1.”

No entry delay:

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to arm stay with no entry delay."

To disarm:

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to disarm with [4-digit pin code]."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to disarm partition 1 with [4-digit pin code]."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to disarm my panel with [4-digit pin code]."

Locks

To lock the door:

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to lock door in the front."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to bolt the front door."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to latch my front doors."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to lock the doors."

To unlock the door:

Important: Unlocking the door requires agreeing to secure actions and setting up a 4-digit pin.

"Alexa, tell Alarm.com to unlock the door with [4-digit pin code]."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to unlock the doors with [4-digit pin code]."
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to unlock my front door.”

Garage

"Alexa, tell Alarm.com to open the garage door with [4-digit pin code]."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to close the Garage Door."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com if the Garage Door is open."

Thermostats

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to make it warmer" (Increases the target temp by 2 degrees F or 1-degree C).
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com what the thermostat temperature is."
"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to set the heat to 72."

Lights

To turn lights on:

“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to switch on the office light.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn the office light all the way up.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn on the lights.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn on the lights in the office.”

To turn lights off:

“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn off the office light.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to flip the office light off.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn off the lights.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to turn off the office lights.”

To set the dim value for light dimmers:

"Alexa, ask Alarm.com to set the office light to 70 percent.”
“Alexa, ask Alarm.com to lower the office light to 25.”
