Alarm Recap on Mobile

The Alarm Recap provides customers with a quick summary of what happened at their property during a recent alarm event. Once the alarm is resolved, it can be viewed from the Home dashboard or from the Activity timeline using the Alarm.com app.

Note: Alarm Recap is currently only available using the Alarm.com app.

Requirements

  • Alarm.com Alarm.com app version iOS 5.9.7+ or Android 5.7.6+

Features

  • Provides customers an at-a-glance recap of what happened at their property during a recent alarm event.
    • The sensor or event that triggered the alarm
    • Relevant video footage (e.g., detected people, vehicles, animals, etc.)
    • Recent activity leading up to and during the alarm
    • The user that disarmed the system
    • Monitoring station events
    • Tamper and malfunction events
  • Aids in reducing the risk of false alarms by providing greater awareness about what caused the alarm.
  • Provides customers with a more intuitive end-to-end alarm response experience, helping customers ensure they and their property are safe and feel more prepared for future alarms.
  • Customers can complete an optional Post-Alarm Analytics questionnaire to provide more information and timely feedback about what happened from the Alarm Recap screen.

View the Alarm Recap

The Alarm Recap can be viewed using the Alarm.com app.

To view the Alarm Recap:
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. In Home, tap Alarm Recap.
    • Alternatively, tap Activity, tap the alarm event row, then tap Alarm Recap.

Frequently asked questions

The Alarm Recap includes activity and video clips from 5 minutes before the alarm occurred, events that took place during the active alarm, and events up to 3 minutes after the system was disarmed.

The Alarm Recap becomes available on the Home screen dashboard 10 minutes after an alarm event concludes (i.e. 10 minutes after the system is disarmed).

No. The Alarm Recap interface does not appear for In-App Property Panic or water monitoring-related events.

Yes. Alarm Recap is available for multiple partition security systems. The Alarm Recap will include each partition(s) that reported an alarm.

Yes. For commercial customers, the Alarm Recap is viewable from the individual business location's system rather than at the Enterprise Group level.

No. If multiple alarms have occurred in the past 24 hours, only a recap of the most recent alarm is shown on the Home dashboard via the action sheet. Customers can view previous alarm recaps via the Activity tab.

No. If an active alarm is taking place, the Alarm Recap will not appear to avoid distracting from or interfering with the alarm response.

Logins with the ability to view account Activity can view Alarm Recap. This includes Master, Full Control, Read-Only, and Custom logins with permission to view Activity.

Logins with Master, Full Control, or Custom logins that can arm/disarm remotely are additionally able to provide feedback on Alarm Recap.
