Combine multiple Business Activity Analytics (BAA) rules into a group
People Counting and People Counting + Occupancy Business Activity Analytics (BAA) rules can be grouped together for improved reporting. In general, BAA Rule Groups have functions similar to those of BAA Rules.
Rule Group reports display image snapshots of up to four rules within a Rule Group. These snapshots are taken when individual BAA rules are saved.
BAA rule groups best practices
BAA rule groups are composed of existing BAA rules. For more information about creating BAA rules, see Business Activity Analytics (BAA) Setup.
- Verify that desired rules within a rule group are all either People Counting or Occupancy
- Verify that virtual tripwires from multiple individual rules within a rule group do not intersect each other
- Verify that virtual tripwires within a rule group are not duplicates of each other
- Verify that the selected directions on all of the individual rules are configured for the desired reporting
- Rules with one direction selected add to the enter count of a rule group report
- Rules with both directions selected add to either the enter and exit count of a rule group report
To group supported BAA rules together:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- On the Business Activity Analytics card, click
. - Click Rule Groups.
- Click Add Rule Group or
to edit an existing rule group. Users can have up to three rule groups per location/individual account. - Follow the on-screen steps to complete the configuration.
- Click Save.
Note: Notifications may take up to five minutes to arrive depending on camera reporting synchronization.
