Enroll, delete, or reset a Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18)

The Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18) can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the instructions below.

For more information about installing a Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18), see Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18) - Installation Guide.

To enroll a Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18):

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

For information about SmartStart compatibility and the enrollment process, see Add or remove a Z-Wave SmartStart-enabled device.

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

For information about this process, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave device.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Activating the battery will automatically put the sensor into inclusion mode. If it’s not added within 30 seconds, try resetting it and including it manually.
  3. For manual inclusion, press and release the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will start blinking fast and turn solid for a second to confirm inclusion.

To delete a Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18):

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press and release the Z-Wave® button on the sensor 3 times as quickly as possible.
  3. Your hub will confirm exclusion and the device will disappear from your controller's device list.

To reset a Zooz Z-Wave Motion Sensor (ZSE18):

  1. Press and hold the Z-Wave® button on the sensor for at least 20 seconds.
  2. The LED indicator will flash, stay solid, and then turn off to confirm factory reset.
