What is the maximum distance of Power-over-Ethernet (POE)?

All Alarm.com Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cameras meet IEEE 802.3af standards. When using an IEEE 802.3af compliment power source and an Ethernet cable that meets TIA/EIA-568, the maximum distance is 100 meters (328 feet).

Using devices that do not meet IEEE 802.3af standards will likely have inconsistent and undesirable results. Some common devices that do not meet these standards include Passive PoE, some PoE splitters, and CCA (copper clad aluminum) Ethernet cables.
