My camera is making a clicking sound
When the light level of a camera's location is too low to display a good picture, the camera will switch from day mode to night mode, and the IR (night vision) lights will turn on. The infrared lights make a clicking sound when they activate, and will also click again when the camera switches back to day mode (turning off the IR lights).
If a camera is making a clicking noise and continuously swapping between day and night mode:
- The camera may be in an environment where the ambient light level is too dim and/or frequently changing. Adjust the light level by re-positioning the camera (i.e., move it to a different corner of the room), or turning on nearby light sources.
- Lower the camera's Night Vision Sensitivity setting using the Customer app or Customer website. For more information on that process, see Change a camera's brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, exposure, or night vision sensitivity.
- Turn off the camera's IR LEDs and/or night vision. For more information on that process, see Turn off a video device's IR LEDs and night vision.
