When does the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat act as a Z-Wave repeater?
Note: This does not apply to the ADC-T25 thermostat, which will never act as a Z-Wave repeater.
The Smart Thermostat determines whether it acts as a repeater at the time it is enrolled into the Z-Wave network. As long as the C-wire is connected and powering the Smart Thermostat when it is enrolled in the Z-Wave network, the Smart Thermostat will act as a Z-Wave repeater to improve the reliability of the Z-Wave network. For more information about repeaters, see What is a Z-Wave repeater?.
Important: Verify the HVAC system is switched on at the breaker when it is enrolled to have the Smart Thermostat act as a repeater.
The Smart Thermostat has excellent Z-Wave range, so it is recommended to enroll it in with C-wire power whenever possible to improve communication between all Z-Wave devices in the home.
