Access Point Malfunction
The Access Point Malfunction trouble condition indicates an access point is unable to communicate with Alarm.com.
How to resolve:
It is recommended to perform the following steps in order.
Verify the network router has internet access

Try connecting to the network router with a different device, such as a laptop or mobile device.
Adjust the Ethernet or wireless connection
- For wired access points:
- Verify that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the access point and router
- Try a different Ethernet cable
- For wireless access points:
- Move the access point to the same room as the router to test if it is able to connect to the network when closer to the router
Power cycle the networking device that the access point is connected to
If you are unsure how to power cycle the on-site networking equipment, contact the internet service provider.
Power cycle the access point
Unplug the device from power for 10 seconds and plug it back in. For additional details on how to power cycle a specific access point, see the device's installation guide in Access Points.
