Bypass a sensor on an Interlogix NX
On the Interlogix NX panel, it is possible to bypass an open contact sensor, or any sensor with a trouble condition (e.g., tamper, low battery, offline, etc.) when arming a system from the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
Important considerations
-
- If Force Bypass is not selected when remotely arming, the system fails to arm unless the zone is programmed as a force arm zone. If the zone is programmed as a force arm zone, it automatically bypasses when the system is armed and it unbypasses as soon as the zone is restored, even before the system is disarmed.
- For more information about force arm zones, see Interlogix NX Installation Guide - Panel.
- For more information about when a force bypass occurs, see Why is Force Bypass automatically selected in the app when attempting to arm the system?.
- A motion sensor that has been activated, such as one that has recently detected motion, would not be bypassed if the panel is being armed away.
Bypass sensors
On the Interlogix NX, sensors can be bypassed using the Alarm.com customer website, Alarm.com app, or locally using the panel.
When bypassing remotely using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app, it is not possible to select a specific sensor to bypass. The only way to remotely bypass a sensor is to arm the system to trigger an automatic sensor bypass.
To bypass a sensor using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- In the Panel card, click
.
- Click to select Force Bypass.
- Click either Stay or Away, depending on the type of arming command desired.
To bypass a sensor using the Alarm.com app:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- In Security System, tap
.
- Tap to select Force Bypass.
- Tap either Arm (Stay) or Arm (Away), depending on the type of arming command desired.
To bypass a sensor locally using the keypad:
- Press [BYPASS].
- If prompted, enter a user code.
- When the bypass light flashes, enter the zone to be bypassed. (i.e., press [6] for zone 6 or [112] for zone 112.)
- Press the [BYPASS] key again. The zone is now bypassed.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for any other zones to be bypassed.
- Press the [BYPASS] key again or press [#] to exit the Bypass Mode. The bypass light stops flashing upon exiting the Bypass Mode. Pressing the [•][–] scroll keys displays all bypassed zones. Press the [#] key to exit this viewing mode.
Note: If the sensors are automatically bypassing when arming at the keypad, Automatic Bypass is likely enabled. This can be verified in the Remote Toolkit or by going to Location 23 Segment 01 Bit 3 in panel programming.
