What is quick exit?

Quick exit is a feature that can be performed locally on security panels that allows Entry/Exit or Delay sensors to be temporarily bypassed without having to disarm the system. The system will re-arm itself when the Exit Delay expires. This is useful for situations such as a user exiting to grab a newspaper or letting a pet outside and re-entering.

Panel compatibility

All panels support quick exit. However, the feature may work differently between panel types.

The following table outlines how quick exit generally works on the specific panels. For more information about how quick exit works for specific panels, refer to the panel manufacturer.

2GIG GC Touch	When enabled, a Quick Exit button will appear under the time in the Security page. Tapping it will initiate a 60-second exit delay without the option to extend it via the Add 30 Seconds button.
DSC Impassa	[015] Opt 3 3-Quick Exit: ON: When the system is armed, users may enter the [][0] command to temporarily bypass a single Delay 1 or Delay 2 zone to exit the premises. Only one delay zone may be activated. Activity on another delay zone initiates the appropriate alarm sequence. If the delay zone is still open two minutes after the [][0] command is entered, entry delay is initiated. If armed in the Stay mode, the automatic bypass on Stay/Away zones remains. OFF: When the system is armed, users can not perform a quick exit using [*][0]. By default, quick exit is on and is programmed into the 5^th programmable function key.
DSC Iotega	By default, quick exit is disabled Quick Exit cannot be initiated from the integrated keypad.
DSC PowerSeries Neo / Pro	Function 16 is a programmable function. It can also be done by pressing [][0] at the keypad if enabled [015] System Option 3 3- Quick Exit: ON: When the system is armed, users may enter the [][0] command to temporarily bypass a single Delay 1 or Delay 2 zone to exit the premises. Only one delay zone may be activated. Activity on another delay zone initiates the appropriate alarm sequence. If the delay zone is still open two minutes after the [][0] command is entered, entry delay is initiated. If armed in the Stay mode, the automatic bypass on Stay/Away zones remains. OFF: When the system is armed, users can not perform a quick exit using [][0].
Interlogix Concord	By default, quick exit is on. To turn Quick Exit off or on: With the display showing QUICK EXIT OFF/ON (current setting), press 1 (off) or 2 (on). The display flashes the entered setting. Press # and the display shows the new setting. When Quick Exit is on, pressing D on a touchpad (while the system is armed) starts a 2-minute timer that allows one standard entry/exit door (sensor groups 10 and 19 only) to be activated once (opened, then closed)
Interlogix NX	Labeled as re-exit The NX-8E has the ability to restart the exit delay for a quick exit without disarming the system by pressing the Exit key while the system is armed. IQ Pro	Quick arm/exit [][0] from an associated keypad This feature operates differently depending on whether the alarm system is armed or disarmed. When disarmed: Pressing [][0] arms the alarm system without having to enter an access code. This provides a fast method of arming for regular users without an access code to arm the system. When armed: This feature provides a means to exit the premises while the alarm system is armed without having to disarm then rearm it. Pressing [*][0] starts a 2-minute timer that enables any door programmed as a delay zone to be opened and closed one time without triggering an alarm. If the door is not closed at the end of the 2-minute timer, the entry delay sequence begins. Any additional activity on another zone triggers the associated alarm or delay sequence.
