Climax - Frequently Asked Questions

The panel supports two partitions.

80 in each partition, 160 in total. (Peripherals are considered sensors).

40 users, 1 duress, and 1 one-time use code per partition for a total of 84 distinct user codes.

PIR cameras and motion detectors must be learned within 3 minutes of power.

Smoke detectors must be learned within 6 minutes of power.

This indicates an alarm in memory. The panel will need to be disarmed twice in order to clear the alarm from memory.

If there is an open sensor, and you are arming from the keypad, the pin will have to be entered twice in order to confirm the open sensor override. However, if arming from the Alarm.com customer website, you can select the Force Bypass checkbox and only send the arming command once.

It is required to use Upload from Panel to request up to date broadband info from the panel.

This is due to the fact that another device was probably learned into and deleted from that slot previously. The Climax panel will store the old device name, which can then be edited once there is a new device in that slot.

The monitoring station needs to support Visual Verification. The installer must set appropriate Monitoring Station Forwarding Settings on the Partner Portal/Partner MobileTech app. The customer must enable Visual Verification from the Settings section of the Alarm.com customer website.

  1. Enable Visual Verification on the Alarm.com customer website.
    1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click Dealer Settings.
    4. In Dealer Settings, click to select Visual Verification of Alarms.
    5. Click Save.

When the panel boots up, LED 3 will be solid for several seconds while cell is not registered. When it switches to attempting to register, LED 3 will start flashing. If the cell registers or is registered/roaming, the LED will turn off. If registration is denied, the LED will turn solid again.

When the panel is in learn mode and receives signal from the device, it will emit two beeps to indicate that it was successfully learned into the panel. LED 1 and 2 will be solid green in Learn mode.

Maximum of eight PIR cameras per panel.

After alarming using a hardwired panic receiver and keyfob combination, the Climax Hybrid/Hybrid Lite panel will need to be hard reset after disarming to send further alarms. The panel will need to be hard reset after every alarm instance in this specific hardwired panic setup in groups 1, 3, and 6.

Note: Hardwired panic and keyfob combinations are only supported on firmware 1.8+.

When a panel is operating in a low-power/battery-conservation mode, the cellular/radio communicator may enter a sleep/Idle state to preserve battery life. In that state, commands sent from the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app can take longer because the communicator has to wake up before it can receive and execute the command.

  • Signals generated at the panel itself (for example, alarms, arming/disarming at the panel, AC failures, and sensor low-battery messages) are still expected to transmit without delay.
  • Once awake, the system processes the request normally; the added delay for remote commands should typically be no more than about 2 minutes.
