Deako Smart Lighting - Integration Guide

Deako Smart Devices can be added to an Alarm.com ecosystem to include lighting automation as part of a smart home or business experience. Deako Smart Devices can be remotely controlled and automated using the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app.

Deako lighting products have a unique modular plug-in design, so can upgrade customers to more advanced options easily, without the expense of an onsite electrician and high-voltage wiring.

Requirements

  • Compatible mobile versions:
    • iOS device with firmware version 8.0+
    • Android device with firmware version 2.1+
    • Alarm.com mobile app version 4.10.4+
  • Current versions of the Deako mobile app
  • At least one Wi-Fi-enabled Deako Smart Device (e.g., Deako Connect, Deako second-gen Smart Switch, etc.)
  • Light & Thermostat Bundle, or Lights service package add-on

    Note: The physical Scene buttons on Deako Scene Controller devices are only compatible with Deako Scenes. These devices can still be added to Alarm.com Scenes, but they must be run remotely.

    • Single pole (two brass terminal screws and On/Off toggle; controls one fixture from a single location)

Integrate the Deako account to Alarm.com using the Add Device Portal

Use the Deako app login to add a Deako Smart Device to the Alarm.com account using the Add Device Portal in the Alarm.com customer website or app.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Manage Devices.
  4. Click Add Device.
  5. Click Lighting and Appliance Control.
  6. Click Deako Smart Device.
  7. Click Next to proceed to sign in to add the device to the account. 
  8. The Deako account login appears. Click Log in/Sign up and then log in to the Deako account.
    • The option to Sign in with Apple is not a supported Alarm.com integration path. If you only use Apple login for the Deako app, invite another non-Apple user to your Deako profile, and use those login credentials to integrate the two platforms. For example, if you use 123@appleid, add a second user to your home 123@gmail, and use the 123@gmail credentials to connect Alarm.com and Deako together.
  9. Select the Deako home profile to connect to the Alarm.com account.
    • Only one home can be connected per email address. When setting up two or more homes, use a different email address for each one. If you use the same email address for both homes, only the one that was added last will be integrated with Alarm.com.
  10. Allow a few minutes for the connection to complete.
    • If the Alarm.com account has a compatible security panel, the Deako switches will automatically show up on the panel in less than an hour. 
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app. 
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap + Add Device.
  4. Tap Lighting and Appliance Control.
  5. Tap Deako Smart Device.
  6. Tap Next to proceed to sign in to add the device to the account. 
  7. If a prompt asks for Alarm.com to use deako.com to sign in, tap Continue
  8. The Deako account login appears. Tap Log in/Sign up and then log in to the Deako account.
    • The option to Sign in with Apple is not a supported Alarm.com integration path. If you only use Apple login for the Deako app, invite another non-Apple user to your Deako profile, and use those login credentials to integrate the two platforms. For example, if you use 123@appleid, add a second user to your home 123@gmail, and use the 123@gmail credentials to connect Alarm.com and Deako together.
  9. Select the Deako home profile to connect to the Alarm.com account.
