Create/edit an Image Sensor rule

Image Sensor rules are used to specify when the Image Sensor captures images and who is notified. Depending on the customer's service package, there are some premade Image Sensor rules (i.e., Capture Images During Alarms) that can only be edited. Image Sensors rules can be created or edited using the Alarm.com customer website.

To create an Image Sensor rule:

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click Rules.
  4. Click Add New Rule. 
  5. Click Image Sensor Rule. 
  6. Click to select either of the following: 
    • Daily View to capture and automatically upload the first motion event detected during the specified timeframe.
    • Activity Alert to capture and automatically upload images of the first motion events after your specified period of inactivity.
  7. Name the new rule. 
  8. Configure the rule to the desired settings. 
  9. To add notification recipients, click Add.
  10. Click to select the desired recipients from the Address Book or add an unlisted recipient by clicking New. 
  11. Click Close.
  12. Verify the rule is configured with the correct settings.
  13. Click Save.

To edit an Image Sensor Rule: 

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website. 
  2. Click Automation. 
  3. Click Edit on the desired Image Sensor rule. 
  4. Configure the rule to the desired settings. 
  5. Verify the rule is configured with the correct settings.
  6. Click Close.
