Wire an LP1501 PoE Door Controller (ADC-AC-LP1501) to an Access Control expansion board
Reader port 1 can support up to eight Alarm.com expansion modules using a 2-wire RS-485 bus. Use twisted-pair 24 AWG, 120 Ohm impedance cable with drain and shield wires. The maximum cable length is 2,000 feet (609 meters).
When powering expansion modules and peripherals from the ADC-AC-LP1501, be cautious not to exceed 650 mA @ 12V DC. The cable gauge must also be evaluated.
Important: Each expansion module must also be wired for power (VIN to + 12VDC / GND to - 12VDC).
Expansion board wiring
The expansion board wires to terminal block 2 (TB2) on the ADC-AC-LP1501 controller using the TR+ (clock), TR- (data) and GND terminals.
Note: The last expansion module on the bus must have jumper J5 installed for ADC-ACX2 modules (J1 for ADC-AC-MR50) and J4 installed for ADC-ACX1 modules (J4 for ADC-AC-MR52).
