Turn off a video device's IR LEDs and Nightvision

Video device infrared (IR) LEDs can be disabled remotely at any time using the Alarm.com customer website.

The video device's status LED can also be turned off. For more information about how to turn off a video device's status LED, see Turn off a video device's LED.

To turn off the video device's IR LEDs:

Note: If the video device does not have any IR LEDs, this option will not appear.

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Use the Video Device dropdown menu to select the desired video device.
  5. Click Video Device Info.
  6. Click to select Turn off the video device IR LED.
  7. Click Save.

To disable nightvision:

Note: Nightvision allows a camera to see infrared light. Keep nightvision enabled if you are using an alternate IR light source. 

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Use the Video Device dropdown menu to select the desired video device.
  5. Click Video Device Info.
  6. Click to select Turn off the video device IR LED.
  7. Click to select Disable nightvision

    • Nightvision can be disabled on the following cameras:
      • ADC-V523/523X
      • ADC-V723/723X
      • ADC-V724/724X
      • ADC-VC727P
      • ADC-VC827P
      • ADC-VC728PF
      • ADC-VC838PF
      • ADC-VC847PF
  8. Click Save.
