Create/edit a Doorbell Call recording rule
A Doorbell Call recording rule records doorbell video whenever someone rings the doorbell.

Note: The Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770) has a different procedure for creating a motion recording rule. For more information, see Create a motion recording rule/notification for the Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770).
To create a Doorbell Call recording rule using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Video.
- Click Recording Rules.
- Click Add New Rule.
- Click Doorbell Call Recording Rule.
- Name the new recording rule.
- Using the Record a clip when dropdown menu, select which doorbell camera should trigger a clip recording when pushed or called.
- In Video Clip Recipients, click Add Recipients to be notified when the recording rule is triggered.
- Click the entries in the Address Book that are to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
- Once all desired recipients are selected, click Close.
Important: Notifications are sent to the recipients after the video clip is uploaded to the account. To create a notification that sends immediately after the doorbell camera is triggered, see Create a Doorbell Call notification.
- Verify the recording rule is configured with the correct settings.
- Click Save Rule.
To edit a Doorbell Call recording rule using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Video.
- Click Recording Rules.
- Click
for the Doorbell Call recording rule.
If you do not see the Doorbell Call recording rule, it has not been created yet.
