Create a Doorbell Call notification for the SkyBell Doorbell Camera

The SkyBell Doorbell Camera can trigger a notification when it detects motion or when someone presses the doorbell button.

This is only a notification and will not trigger a recording by itself. For more information about how to create doorbell camera recording rules, see Create/edit a Doorbell Motion recording rule or Create/edit a Doorbell Call recording rule.

To create a Doorbell Call notification using the Alarm.com app:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Doorbell Camera.
  3. Tap Configure.
  4. Tap Push Notifications.
  5. Tap Add.
  6. Tap Doorbell Call.
  7. Name the notification.
  8. In For the selected devices, tap to select the desired doorbell camera.
  9. In When the following event occurs, tap to select MotionButton Pushed, or both.
     
    Note: The Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770) has a different procedure for creating a motion recording rule. For more information, see Create a motion recording rule/notification for the Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770).
     
  10. Optional customization:
    1. In During this time frame, tap to select At all times or Only during the following times to choose a schedule for the doorbell camera to follow.
    2. In Notification filtering, tap to select the desired filters.
  11. In Recipients, tap Add.
  12. In the Address book, tap to select the recipients to notify, or tap New Contact to add a new Address Book recipient.
     
    Note: It is recommended to use a push notification (i.e., recipients with a phone icon next to their description) rather than an email or text notification. You can answer a doorbell call directly through the push notification. For more information about how to set up a push device, see How can a device start receiving Push Notifications?.
     
  13. At the end of the page, tap Close.
  14. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  15. Tap Save.

To create a Doorbell Call notification using the Alarm.com customer website:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Notifications.
  3. Click New Notification.
  4. Click Doorbell Call.
  5. Name the notification.
  6. In For the selected devices, click to select the desired doorbell camera.
  7. In When the following event occurs, click to select MotionButton Pushed, or both.
     
    Note: The Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770) has a different procedure for creating a motion recording rule. For more information, see Create a motion recording rule/notification for the Alarm.com Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770).
     
  8. Optional customization:
