Configure custom light and switch icons
Custom icons are available for smart lighting, switch, and plug-in devices using the Alarm.com app and Alarm.com customer website. Simply select the preferred icon for each of your devices to easily tell them apart—ideal when using multiple lighting devices or plug in-controlled appliances.

- Once a device is assigned an icon, its appearance will update in other locations such as rules and Scenes
- Icon color indicates device status:
- Yellow: On
- Black: Off
- Blue: Unknown (Device Polling)
- Grey: Unknown (Offline)
Configure custom light and switch icons
To configure custom light and switch icons using the Alarm.com app:
- Log into the Alarm.com app.
- Tap
. - In Lights and Switches, tap the desired device.
- Tap Device Settings.
- In Info, tap
next to the existing icon. - In Select Icon, tap the desired new icon for the device.
- If desired, in Device Name, edit the device name.
- Tap Save.
To configure custom light and switch icons using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
- In Lights and Switches, click
. - Click
for the desired device. - In Info, click next to the existing icon.
- In Select Icon, click the desired new icon for the device.
- If desired, in Device Name, edit the device name.
- Click Save.
