Create/edit a Door was left open notification
A Door was left open notification can notify users of a door/window that has been left open for a specified time period or if specific users leave the premises while the sensor is open.
Note: There is a limit of 32 sensors per Door was left open notification.
Create/edit a Door was left open notification
Door was left open notifications can be created/edited using the Alarm.com app or Alarm.com customer website.
To create/edit a Door was left open notification using the Alarm.com app:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap
. - Tap Notifications.
- Tap
. - To edit the notification, tap to select the Door was left open notification.
- If the notification has not been created:
- Tap
. - Tap Use A Template.
- In Business, tap Door was left open.
- Tap
- Name the new notification.
- In When any of these sensors, select the sensors to be notified about.
- In Is Left Open, select either:
- For this duration to select the amount of time the sensor must remain open before sending the notification.
- When select people cross a Geo-Fence to select when specific users enter or exit a location.
- In During this timeframe, select either of the following:
- At All Times to be notified at all times.
- Only during the following times to select specific days and times to be notified.
- In Recipients, tap Add.
- Tap the entries in Address Book to be notified or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
- Tap Close.
- Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
- Tap Save.
To create/edit a Door was left open notification using the Alarm.com customer website:
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Notifications.
- To edit the notification, click
next to the Door was left open notification. - If the notification has not been created:
- Click New Notification.
- Click Business.
- Click Door was left open.
- Name the notification rule.
- In When any of these sensors, select the sensors to be notified about.
- In Is Left Open, select either of the following:
- For this duration to select how long a door is left open.
- When select people cross a Geo-Fence to select when specific users enter or exit a location.
- In During this timeframe, select either of the following:
- At All Times to be notified at all times.
- Only during the following times to select specific days and times to be notified.
- In Recipients, click Add to choose notification recipients.
- Click the entries in Address Book to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
- Click Close.
- Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
- Click Save.
