Hunter Hydrawise - Integration Guide
Alarm.com offers your customers seamless irrigation management with the widely adopted Hunter Hydrawise Wi-Fi Irrigation controllers. Customers can run their system, view key zoning and schedule information, and use advanced settings like rain delay to prevent water waste and ensure proper watering for their entire property from the Alarm.com app.
Requirements
- A compatible Hydrawise Controller (i.e., HCC, HPC, X2, or Pro-HC)
- iOS app version 5.9.4+ or Android app version 5.7.4+
- Hydrawise app with a customer account login
- Irrigation Control service package add-on
Before Integrating
Install the Hydrawise controller
Only the HCC, HPC, X2, and Pro-HC controllers are compatible with this integration. Refer to manufacturer-provided installation instructions to complete.
Create the Hydrawise customer account
The Hydrawise controller needs to be connected to the local Wi-Fi network. Download the Hydrawise app to create an account.
Note: Remember the username and password as they will be needed later in the process.
Create the Alarm.com customer account or update an existing account
- Create the Alarm.com customer account if one has not been created yet.
- For information about creating a customer account, see How to create Alarm.com customer accounts.
- Verify the customer has the Irrigation Control service package add-on enabled.
- For information about updating the service package, see Update the service package on a customer account.
- Have the customer log in to the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app and complete account setup (if necessary).
Add the Hunter Hydrawise Controller to the customer's Alarm.com account
The Hunter Hydrawise Controller can be added to the customer's Alarm.com account using the Alarm.com app.
To add the Hunter Hydrawise Controller to the customer's Alarm.com account:
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap Irrigation.
- Tap Connect Irrigation.
- Select Hydrawise.
- Enter the customer’s Hunter Hydrawise app credentials, then tap to grant permission if asked.
- The Irrigation card on the Home screen will automatically refresh after authorization is complete.
Available Features
- View watering zones and existing schedules from the Alarm.com Alarm.com app
- Manually start irrigation on selected zones and configure run time
- Setup a rain delay in the event of inclement weather to prevent over watering
- Toggle on Standby Mode to skip all scheduled watering times and manually control the system
- Creating and editing irrigation schedules and forecast data are available in the Hydrawise app
