How long are recordings from SkyBell Doorbell Cameras?

Recordings from the SkyBell Doorbell Camera vary based on whether someone presses the button or triggers its motion sensor.

In order for the SkyBell Doorbell Camera to record, it requires an active recording rule. For more information about creating recording rules, see Create/edit a video recording rule.

Motion trigger

  • 25 to 35 seconds

Note: Both SkyBell Doorbell Cameras' motion sensors are most effective within 8 feet. The camera must detect continuous motion for 7 seconds before triggering a clip on the most sensitive setting. After a recording has been triggered, it takes up to 15 seconds for the motion sensor to reset itself.

Button press

  • 90 to 100 seconds (maximum)

The Skybell Doorbell Camera records while the user is on an active call (i.e., viewing live view from the Customer app) and stops recording when the call ends or when the recording reaches the maximum length.
