Charge the ADC-V731B battery
Compatibility Notice: Alarm.com does not support third-party solar panels for use with Alarm.com cameras.
The Alarm.com Solar Panel (ADC-VACC-SP4W) and ADC-V731B camera are designed to be used together to ensure a weatherproof connection. The full suite of features and functionalities will only work correctly with the official Alarm.com Solar Panel.
There are three methods for charging the battery on a 4MP Indoor/Outdoor Battery Camera with Two-Way Audio and Integrated Spotlight (ADC-V731B), and all three methods can fully charge the battery in less than 5 hours.
Charging methods
- In-unit charging. Charge the battery pack while it is connected to the camera.
- Removed battery charging. Remove the battery pack and charge it while separated from the camera.
- Solar charging. Trickle charge the battery pack via a solar panel while it is connected to the camera.
Charging compatibility
For optimal experience, use the charging cable supplied in the ADC-731B box. Waterproofing is not guaranteed unless the provided cable is utilized for in-unit charging.
- Max charge rate: 2A
- Charger compatibility: The battery pack is compatible with chargers that can supply 5V, 9V, or 12V
In-unit charging
- Open the charging port flap. On the back of the device, open the grey silicon charging flap.
- Plug-in the USB-C cord. For mains-powered charging the device status LED will begin blinking yellow and green. For solar trickle charging the LED will remain unchanged.

Battery level indicators
In Alarm.com app versions 5.3+, users are informed if their ADC-V731B battery has any active issues, such as:
- Depleted Battery
- Critical Low Battery
(less than 10%)
- Low Battery
(less than 20%)
- Low Temperature
(less than 5ºF)
- High Temperature
(greater than 131ºF)
Note: The ADC-V731B's battery tends to deplete faster than normal at lower temperatures. It is recommended to be proactive about charging the battery before the device is in a Low Battery and Low Temperature state (i.e., less than 20% and less than 32ºF), and to set it up for charging as soon as possible once it is in a Low Battery and Low Temperature state.
The battery status indicator icon is displayed across all video streaming interfaces within the Alarm.com app, except for the Multi-Video Feed Grid View, Siri Shortcuts, and TV interfaces. Additionally, the battery indicator is visible in the ADC-V731B video settings within the Alarm.com app.
Tapping on the battery indicator icon will display an informative message and guidance within an action sheet for each unique status. Within the action sheet, users are shown a Go To Settings button that takes them directly to their ADC-V731B video settings. This displays their specific battery percentage and an embedded trouble condition screen with a link to a knowledge base article to resolve their respective issue/trouble condition.
Note: Push notifications send when any ADC-V731B trouble condition arises, and tapping on these push notifications will direct to the appropriate trouble condition mobile web view.
