Clear a panel tamper on an SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista

The SEM for the Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista may or may not have a tamper switch depending on the version of the module.

How to resolve:

If using a SEM300+:

The screw labeled Step 6 in the following image is critical for the wall tamper functionality. Verify this screw is tightened fully against the unit and wall.

Note: Upon powering on, a tamper displays if the cover of the SEM is off, or an end of tamper displays if the cover of the SEM is on.

If using a SEM older than the SEM300:

There is not a native tamper switch so there is no indication of a panel tamper locally. If a Panel Tamper trouble condition appears on Alarm.com:

  1. Verify if there are any local troubles to indicate specific device trouble. Refer to the panel or manufacturer installation guide for clearing the local trouble condition.
  2. If there is no local trouble condition:
    1. Trip a peripheral device (e.g., keypad, receiver, siren, etc.) to cause a tamper.
    2. Restore the peripheral device to clear the tamper.
    3. Once the device's tamper is restored, request an equipment list to verify that the trouble condition is resolved. For more information about updating the equipment list, see Request an updated sensor list
  3. If the preceding steps do not resolve the behavior, perform a power cycle on the panel to trigger the SEM zone scan.
