View the PowerG PIR camera images for IQ panels
PowerG PIR cameras (PG9934 and PG9944) enrolled on compatible IQ panels can upload alarm and Peek-in Now images to Alarm.com.
Captured images are saved in the Images event gallery. For more information about viewing the event gallery, see View the Images Event Gallery and Past Events.
Requirements
To upload PowerG PIR camera images to the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app:
- The following IQ panels are compatible:
- IQ Panel 2 on software version 2.4.0+
- IQ Hub
- IQ Panel 4/IQ4 Hub
- IQ Panel 5/IQ5 Hub
- This is also compatible with IQ Pro, IQ4 NS, and IQ5 NS as long as an IQ Remote keypad is connected and paired over Wi-Fi
- The IQ panel must have a PowerG daughtercard attached
- The account must have Images - Plus on the service package
- A PowerG PIR camera (PG9934 and PG9944) must be enrolled on the panel
Compatibility considerations
- PowerG PIR cameras are only compatible with capturing alarm and Peek-in Now images.
- For alarm images, the PowerG PIR camera captures an image when it detects the first motion after the panel goes into alarm.
- For more information about requesting Peek-In Now images, see Take an Image Sensor image (Peek-In).
- PowerG PIR camera uploads for alarms and Peek-in Now images count towards the customer's monthly upload limit.
- PowerG PIR cameras can be used with Alarm.com Visual Verification for the panel. For more information about Alarm.com Visual Verification, see Alarm.com Visual Verification.
To configure PowerG PIR camera images:
- Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
- Click Automation.
- Click Rules, if not selected already.
- To enable/disable PowerG PIR camera alarm images, click the toggle switch for the Panel Camera Alarm Image Uploads automation rules.
Note: Since Peek-ins are manually requested, the Peek-ins rule is always enabled.
In the following example, the PIR camera is named Motion Detector and is enabled for both rules, along with the panel camera.
- To configure recipient notifications:
- Click
for the automation rule to configure.
- Click + Add.
- Select any recipients to be notified from the Address Book dropdown. If the intended recipient is not listed, click + New to add a new recipient address.
- Once desired recipients are selected, click Close.
- Click Save.

Image uploads per PIR Camera during alarm events
The number of PIR camera images uploaded for each alarm event depends on the following settings:
- The Image Upload Count service package setting determines the number of images uploaded to the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app.
- The PowerG Camera Image Capture Count panel setting determines the number of images captured by any PowerG PIR Camera when triggered during an alarm.
- The Swinger Shutdown Count panel setting determines the number of times the same sensor is allowed to trip the alarm during the same arming period (1-6). Swinger Shutdown must be enabled for this to work. When Swinger Shutdown is disabled, a sensor may trip up to 128 times per arming period.
-
- On the Qolsys IQ Panel 2:
- Firmware 2.7.0+, PIR images will upload for up to 6 alarm events based on local setting.
- Firmware lower than 2.7.0, PIR Images will only upload for up to 3 alarm events regardless if local setting is higher than 3.
- On the Qolsys IQ Panel 2:
-
For additional information on panel settings, refer to the panel installation guide or the manufacturer.
Example: If Image Upload Count is set to 10, PowerG Capture Count is set to 10, and Swinger Shutdown Count is set to 2, PIR cameras will capture a burst of 10 images upon the first motion after the panel goes into alarm and will capture another burst of 10 images if a second motion is captured during the alarm. After that, since it has hit the Swinger Shutdown Count of 2, the PIR camera will no longer trigger to capture images during the current alarm.
Service package
The Images service package setting can be set to a value of 1 or 10 Image Upload. The following displays where the Image Upload Count is shown in the customer's service package:

Note: The service package setting determines the maximum number of image uploads per event. For example, in the preceding setup using Images-Plus, this would allow for 40 alarm events that images can be uploaded for, even if each event uploads 10 images.
On Qolsys IQ Panel 2 firmware version below 2.6.0, only a single image is captured versus 10 images captured per PIR camera during alarm events.
