Enroll, delete, or reset an Eaton Z-Wave In-Wall Smart Dimmer & Accessory Dimmer (RF9640-ND/RF9642-ZD)
The Eaton Z-Wave In-Wall Smart Dimmer & Accessory Dimmer (RF9640-ND/RF9642-ZD) can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the instructions below.

To enroll an Eaton Z-Wave In-Wall Smart Dimmer & Accessory Dimmer into a Z-Wave network:
This device is only compatible with Z-Wave controllers that support Z-Wave Security 2 (S2), so it must be enrolled as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features. For information about this process, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave Device.
To delete an Eaton Z-Wave In-Wall Smart Dimmer & Accessory Dimmer from a Z-Wave network:
- Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
- Press the On/Off switch one time.
- The LED will start blinking when the device has been successfully deleted.
To reset an Eaton Z-Wave In-Wall Smart Dimmer & Accessory Dimmer:
- Apply power to the In-Wall Smart Dimmer.
- Press and hold the On/Off switch for 20 seconds or until the LED flashes five times (or three times for the RF9642-Z).
- Release the On/Off switch. When the LED starts blinking, the device has been successfully reset.
