Which garage door openers and wall controls are compatible with the Linear Z-Wave Garage Controller?
Garage door openers
The Linear Z-Wave Garage Door Controller is compatible with nearly all non-MyQ garage door openers with safety eyes.
Exceptions include:
- Genie PowerMax 1500
- Genie TriloG 1200 & 1500
- Genie IntelliG 1000 & 1200
- Aladdin Connect-enabled motors
For a more extensive list of incompatible garage door openers, see Linear's Product Compatibility Information guide. For more information about Genie garage door opener compatibility, contact Linear.
Caution: Any opener with a MyQ logo or Craftsman Assurelink logo is not compatible with this device, and a LiftMaster remote solution should be used instead. Craftsman motors may not have an Assurelink logo on the motor but still may use Assurelink. Refer to the device manufacturer's manual to see how the device communicates. The MyQ Internet Gateway (828LM) would be the preferred choice for Assurelink or MyQ-labelled openers.
Wall controls
The Linear Z-Wave Garage Door Controller has been found to be incompatible with some control panels that constantly draw power from the garage door opener. Such control panels may need power for LCD screens and lights.
If it is suspected that a powered wall control may be causing issues, remove the wall control (making sure that the wires are not touching after being removed), and test a remote command to the Linear Z-Wave Garage Door Controller again. If the command is successful without the wall control, it is recommended to replace the wall control with a basic unit if the customer wishes to use the Linear Z-Wave Garage Door Controller.
