How many accounts can use a LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door Opener at the same time?
Alarm.com is currently compatible with two LiftMaster garage door control kits:
- LiftMaster MyQ Smart Garage Hub (821LM, 821LMB, 821LMC-SCM, MyQ-G0301, MyQ-G0401-ES)
- LiftMaster MyQ Retrofit with Internet Gateway & Control Panel (828LM + 888LM/889LM)
Both of these gateways can only be connected to one account at a time. This means if one of these devices is connected to a LiftMaster MyQ account, you will be unable to connect the device to an Alarm.com account. It can only be connected to one Alarm.com account.
The same is true of a MyQ Garage Door Opener (GDO) or garage door using an 888LM/889LM. If a MyQ GDO was learned into one LiftMaster gateway, it needs to be deleted from that gateway before it can be learned into another gateway.
Troubleshooting
"This LiftMaster MyQ gateway ('0X000XXXXX') is associated with an existing MyQ LiftMaster account. The customer must use the LiftMaster mobile app or website to remove the gateway from their account. Once the gateway is free, you can try to add gateway again."
For this error, follow the steps below to remove a MyQ device from the LiftMaster mobile app or website:
- The customer will need to log in to the LiftMaster MyQ site at https://www.myliftmaster.com/.
Note: If for some reason the customer has no knowledge of an existing MyQ account you will need to contact LiftMaster support at (800) 528-5880. - Once logged in, locate the My Places & Devices section on the dashboard page and click on the settings icon in the upper right corner.
- You will be taken to a Manage Places page where you will select the place you'd like to remove the MyQ device from.
- You will be taken to a Manage devices page where you can delete any of the connected MyQ devices.
- Click on the trash can icon next to the device to remove that device from the account.
- To confirm the device has been deleted, navigate back to the My Places & Devices page. The only option you should see is to add a new device.
"The serial number you entered corresponds to a LiftMaster MyQ Gateway ('0X000XXXXX') that is already registered on an Alarm.com account."
If you receive this error, verify the serial number on the gateway and try again. If the error persists, contact CORE Technical Support for further assistance.
- Alarm.com CORE Technical Support will be able to verify if the MyQ device is being used on another Alarm.com account with your company or if it is associated with an account through a different dealer.
- If the device is associated to an account with a different dealer, you will have to replace the device as our support office is unable to remove devices from accounts in any situation.
