Change thermostat temperature swing settings
The thermostat temperature swing is the number of degrees above (for cooling) and below (for heating) the target setpoint the HVAC system allows the temperature to fluctuate before cycling back on.
Example: If the swing is set to 3 degrees, and the system is in Heat Mode with a setpoint of 68 degrees, the thermostat waits until the in-home temperature is 65 before heating the home back to 68. This results in the thermostat running fewer but longer cycles, which is generally considered to be more energy-efficient than running frequent shorter cycles, as you would see with a swing of 1 degree or less.
