Enroll, delete, or reset a JascoPro Smart Indoor Door/Window Sensor (84142)

The JascoPro Smart Indoor Door/Window Sensor (84142) can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the instructions below.

To enroll a JascoPro Smart Indoor Door/Window Sensor (84142):

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Press and release the programming button. This starts the manual add process. The LED flashes blue quickly as the add process begins.  
  3. The LED illuminates green for 2 seconds to confirm the sensor has been added to the network.

To delete a JascoPro Smart Indoor Door/Window Sensor (84142):

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press the programming button once.
  3. The LED illuminates red for 2 seconds to indicate it has been removed.

To reset a JascoPro Smart Indoor Door/Window Sensor (84142):

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Press the programming button while installing the battery. Continue pressing the programming button for 3 seconds.
  3. The LED blinks green twice to indicate the sensor is reset.
