What is a Z-Wave Pre-Paired Device?
A Z-Wave device will be labeled as a Pre-Paired Device when a Device Specific Key (DSK) associated with a Z-Wave Security 2 (S2) and/or SmartStart device has been added to the system but is not currently associated with a device on the Z-Wave network.
How to resolve:
Note: If a DSK was entered in error or the device will no longer be enrolled, the DSK can be deactivated and deleted. For information about this process, see Deactivate and remove a Device Specific Key (DSK).
- Enroll the device to the Z-Wave network.
- For information about enrolling S2 devices, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave device.
- For information about enrolling SmartStart devices, see Add or remove a Z-Wave SmartStart-enabled device.
- Once the corresponding device is enrolled to the Z-Wave network, the device type will update.
