Trigger an In-App Property Panic

The In-App Property Panic monitoring station supported feature can expedite the dispatch of emergency personnel when help is needed at an account's location. Customers with non-security accounts (i.e., video-only, automation-only, etc.) can send a panic signal to the monitoring station from the Alarm.com app with no panel required.

When enabled on the account, In-App Property Panic is available on the home dashboard of the Alarm.com app for the account's primary login.

Compatibility

  • The monitoring station connected to the customer's account must support In-App Property Panic.

Note: Customers with a panel can trigger panics from the Alarm.com app using In-App Panel Panic. For more information about In-App Panel Panic, see Trigger an In-App Panel Panic

Frequently asked questions

What happens when the panic button is pressed?

When the customer presses and holds any of the available panic buttons, a signal is sent from the Alarm.com app through Alarm.com's backend to the monitoring station and communicates the selection.

What if the customer sends a Panic by mistake?

After pressing the panic button, a new screen pops up with a 3-second countdown and below the countdown is a Cancel button. Tap Cancel to negate the panic signal that was triggered.

Will assistance be sent to the customer's home location or their current geographic location?

Sending a panic from the In-App Property Panic interface will act as if a panic signal is being sent from the account location. When a signal is sent, messaging in the app will reinforce that emergency personnel will be dispatched to the customer account location.

Emergency personnel will not arrive at the customer's geographic location of their smartphone. They will only go to the address listed on the monitoring station account. It is encouraged to keep that information up-to-date.
