How many sensors can display on the Customer app?
The Alarm.com app displays all sensors that have Sensor Activity Monitoring (SAM) enabled. This allows specific sensor types to provide information about the sensor's status (i.e., Opened or Closed, Idle or Activated). SAM can be enabled for up to 120 sensors. For more information about Sensor Activity Monitoring, see Enable or disable Sensor Activity Monitoring.
When Water Management is included as an add-on in the customer's service package, water sensors will also appear on the Alarm.com app and Alarm.com customer website even though SAM displays as Off for these sensors. For more information about water management, see Water Management.
Note: Sensors are listed in alphabetical order on the Alarm.com app. On the Alarm.com customer website, sensors are listed in order of device ID.
Certain sensor statuses may not display on the Alarm.com app, but most sensors, including glass break and life safety sensors, can be viewed from the Manage Devices page.
Which sensors do not display on the Alarm.com app list?
Sensors such as smoke detectors, fire detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors put the security panel into alarm regardless of the panel's current arming state (e.g., alarm sends even if disarmed). These types of sensors are ineligible for Sensor Activity Monitoring and do not appear on the Alarm.com app unless the sensor is in alarm or has a trouble condition. If these types of sensors are in alarm or report a trouble condition, the sensor alarm or alert appears on the Alarm.com app.
For more information about eligibility for Sensor Activity Monitoring, see Why are some sensors, such as smoke detectors, not eligible for Sensor Activity Monitoring?.
