Notifications paused by an Automated Process

Notice: For Canadian Dealers, text based notifications to Bell subscribers will be degraded on December 31, 2025, due to changes in how Bell handles messaging. For phones with Bell, it is recommended to set up Push Notifications. For more information about configuring push devices and notifications, see Configure mobile push notification devices. For more information about the Bell  SMS/MMS  notification sunset, see Bell text messaging notification sunset.

If Audit Changes shows a notification being paused by an Automated Process, it is due to the notification being bounced.

This generally happens when the customer flagged a prior notification as junk or spam. To help prevent this in the future, the customer should retrieve one of their prior notifications and add the From: address to their email or phone contacts accordingly.

In very rare cases, if an email provider or phone carrier is experiencing concerns, several accounts with notifications using the same email provider or phone carrier would be affected. If this appears to be the case, contact the customer's email provider or phone carrier for support.

Note: Some carriers may have restrictions that prevent Alarm.com from delivering SMS notifications or limit the ability to attach video clips to messages. The use of video features may also incur data charges by your cellular provider. For more information about SMS limitation see Customer is not receiving notifications.

Enable email notifications

Email notifications can be enabled using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
