The Alarm.com app for Apple Watch includes features such as:
- Arm or Disarm the system
- Send Scene commands
- Control locks
- Control garage doors
- Control thermostats
- Control lights
- Glance view provides a quick overview of the system's status and Actionable Notifications allow the user to respond to certain notifications directly from the Apple Watch.

No. The Apple Watch allows commands to be sent using Actionable Notifications. However, the user must be logged in to the Alarm.com app to successfully complete any action performed using the notification.
What is required for the Alarm.com app to work on the Apple Watch?
The following are required:
- An iPhone 5 or newer is required
- An Apple Watch with watchOS version 9.0+
- The iPhone paired with the Apple Watch must be logged into the Alarm.com app
How do I install the Alarm.com app on the Apple Watch?
- Open the Watch app on the iPhone.
- Tap Search at the bottom.
- Using the search bar field, enter Alarm.com.
- Tap Get.
How does the Apple Watch communicate with the iPhone?
The Apple Watch communicates with the iPhone using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
If the iPhone is near enough, it will first try to use Bluetooth to conserve power. If Bluetooth is not available, it will try to use Wi-Fi.
Important: The Apple Watch requires a 2.4 GHz network to communicate with an iPhone when using Wi-Fi. It will not communicate using a 5 GHz network.
