Alexa says, “I found several devices matching that name.”
If Alexa says, "I found several devices matching that name", try the following steps:
- Try saying the name of the device more clearly.
- If the user is trying to control multiple devices using a general command (e.g., "turn off all the lights”), create a group that includes all the devices the user wants to control in the group. For example, if the user wants to turn off a group of lights by saying "turn off all the lights", the user could create a group named The Lights and include all of the lights they would like to turn off.
Note: Unlike the Alarm.com skill, the Alarm.com Smart Home skill does not support general light commands. For more information on how to create a group, see Create a group of Amazon Alexa Smart Home devices. - Verify that the user's device name follows the naming guidelines. For more information, see Alexa does not understand the names of my devices.
