Alarm.com Skill - Interact with video cameras through Amazon Alexa

Users can interact with most video cameras by name using an Amazon Alexa. Make sure to use the exact name of the video camera in the command.

Compatibility considerations include:

  • Doorbell cameras are not compatible with Amazon Alexa.
  • Echo device screens cannot play live video back.

Example commands

The following list of commands is a small subset of the possible things to say to control the video cameras.

Note: The example commands are on a video camera with the name Living Room.

To record a clip:
  • "Alexa, ask Alarm.com to record a clip on the Living Room camera."
To move camera view:

Important: This feature is only available on pan/tilt cameras (e.g., ADC-V622, ADC-V610PT or ADC-V620PT).

  • "Alexa, ask Alarm.com to point the Living Room camera at the dog bed preset."
